README
markdownadom-basic-parts
The canonical catalog of every component Adom keeps on the PnP line — symbols, footprints, 3D models, and packages for machine pins, contacts, and our most-used SMD components. Anything that lands on an Adom PCB starts here.
This page is the umbrella: each part has its own component page with full characterization. Use the tables below to navigate.
Stock + pricing for these parts: pnp-inventory — live reels, qty on hand, vendor cross-refs. Sourcing across distributors: adom-parts-search — Mouser + DigiKey + JLCPCB, Mouser-preferred.
Need these in Fusion 360? The whole catalog is already built as a single Fusion Electronics library — adom-basic-parts-fusion-lbr. Check it before rebuilding.
All 138 basic parts have a live wiki component page. Each auto-renders symbol + footprint + 3D and serves .kicad_sym, .kicad_mod, .step, .glb, and often .lbr. Slug is the MPN lowercased — CR0402-FX-1002GLF → cr0402-fx-1002glf. If you are building a library from Adom's parts, the tables below are the complete work-list.

The passives and actives that show up on >90% of Adom builds. Counts come from the inventory service (is_basic = 1, i.e. pnp-inventory stats) and are verified live — see Verifying these numbers.
Standard values. Resistors run E24 from 0 Ω to 1 MΩ, all 1% thick film — 41 values in 0402, 38 in 0603 (0603 omits 0 Ω, 120 Ω, 2 kΩ, 5.6 kΩ). MLCCs use C0G for ≤ 220 pF, X7R mid-range, X5R for ≥ 2.2 µF. LEDs come in amber, blue, green, red, white in both 0402 and 0603, plus one addressable RGB. Inductors are Murata LQM18 ferrite-core, 100 nH to 10 µH. Ferrites are Murata BLM15 at 100 MHz.

Machine pins
The press-fit / castellated machine pin contacts that make our perimeter-pad connectors mate. Owned by the Workcell-Pin library.
| Part | Type | Pitch | Pages |
|---|---|---|---|
| TBD — fill in machine pin SKUs (MC-1, MC-2, etc.) with symbol + footprint + 3D refs |
In the inventory these currently exist as net-named contact instances rather than clean SKUs — packages PIN_MED and PIN_MED_CONTACT_WITH3D, carrying net names (VBAT, SCL, D+, !INT, …) rather than part numbers. Adom's standard drill / pad / bounding-box dimensions for Medium and Large, Short and Standard machine pins and contacts are documented separately; consolidating them into real SKUs with symbol + footprint + 3D is open work.
Contacts
Perimeter board-edge contacts (different from machine pins — the molded contacts on the receiving side).
| Part | Type | Mating pin | Pages |
|---|---|---|---|
| TBD — fill in contact SKUs with their mating-pin counterparts |
Other (connectors / ICs / specialty)
Lower-volume parts that still recur — USB-C receptacles, popular MCUs, level shifters, switching regulators, MEMS mics. These are the 35 extended parts (is_basic = 0) in inventory: chargers (BQ25792RQMR), regulators (TLV76033DBZR), Schottky diodes (BAT54HT1G), test points, and the machine-pin instances above.
| MPN | Category | Manufacturer | Library page |
|---|---|---|---|
| TBD — populate as specialty parts get their own component pages |
List them live with:
pnp-inventory parts list --field mfrPN,type,package --where is_basic=0
Many specialty parts already have component pages on the wiki even though they are not basic — the wiki carries 354 component pages against 138 basic parts, so check component/<mpn-lowercased> before assuming one does not exist.
CAD asset shape (what every entry in this catalog should have)
When you add a part library page under this catalog, it should provide:
| Asset | Format | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| Schematic symbol | KiCad .kicad_sym |
Page asset, type=kicad_sym |
| PCB footprint | KiCad .kicad_mod |
Page asset, type=kicad_mod |
| 3D model | STEP + GLB | Page asset, type=step / glb |
| Fusion 360 library | .lbr (EAGLE format) |
Page asset, type=lbr (optional) |
| Manufacturer datasheet | .pdf |
Page asset or link to datasheets/ |
| Characterization | Interactive HTML sample | Page sample, viewer_type=viewer_html |
| MPN cross-ref | Mouser PN + DigiKey PN + LCSC PN | In inventory (pnp-inventory xref --mpn <MPN>) |
| Adom inventory link | pnp-inventory parts get <MPN> |
In body, links to live qty |
See in-s63bta for a complete reference example. To bring a page up to full interactive spec (3D viewer, tape-and-reel, characterization hero), use the local adom-basic-part-page-upgrade skill.
Adding a new basic part
- Confirm it belongs here. Basic parts are commodity components Adom buys on reels and uses across multiple builds. Project-specific or one-off parts belong on the project's wiki page, not this catalog.
- Pull the canonical assets (symbol, footprint, 3D) from the manufacturer, or use chip-fetcher to fetch a full CAD bundle.
- Create the component page — slug is the MPN lowercased:
adom-wiki pkg init <mpn-lowercased> --type component --title "<MPN> — <one-line description>" - Attach the assets —
kicad_sym,kicad_mod,step,glb, datasheet — then publish:adom-wiki pkg publish --org adom --public - Add it to inventory so stock and pricing resolve:
pnp-inventory part edit --mpn <MPN> --set is_basic=1 --by <you> - Link it back here. Append a row to the right table on this page and bump the count.
- Order a reel. Use
pnp-inventory cart submit-for-reviewso the team approves stocking it.

Verifying these numbers
Everything above is anchored to live services. If something looks stale:
# Basic-part count (expect parts_total 173 / basic_parts 138)
pnp-inventory stats --pretty
# Wiki component-page coverage
curl -s 'https://wiki.adom.inc/api/v1/pages?type=component&limit=200' | jq '.pages | length'
To regenerate the tables: pull is_basic=1 from the inventory, paginate ?type=component, and match mfrPN.lower() against slug. As of the last refresh all 138 basic parts have a wiki component page — if that stops being true, mark the gaps rather than leaving a row implying CAD exists when it does not.
The passive tables above are populated from live inventory — all 138 basic parts, each linked to its component page. Machine pins, contacts, and specialty rows are still _TBD_; populate them as you add entries. The structure stays stable; the rows grow.
