Pins

Pin Function
1 terminal (non-polar)
2 terminal (non-polar)

A resistor of this kind has no polarity and no pin 1 orientation: either terminal may face either way.

Land pattern: KiCad footprint vs YAGEO

Land pattern
    Land pattern
The footprint is KiCad's standard `R_0402_1005Metric`, and this guide lays its pads over the land pattern recommended by YAGEO, at true scale. It matches the maker closely. Use it to decide whether to keep the KiCad pads or shrink them to the maker's numbers before layout.

The comparison, with the numbers

3D model

No manufacturer STEP for this exact part number could be downloaded directly: YAGEO's product pages build their CAD links in the browser and expose no direct STEP link, so the page uses KiCad's library model for the package, R_0402_1005Metric.step, with its bytes unchanged, renamed RC0402FR-074K7L.step. It was checked against the datasheet table before use (next section). The GLB for the page viewer was made from it with step2glb convert. YAGEO states 'No Marking' for RC0402 (Fig. 1) (searched: RC_L product specification V.14, p.3 'Marking'), so the model shows a plain body.

The page viewer shows rc0402fr-074k7l-hero.glb: the clean model plus nonphysical reference artwork drawn under it to the adom-hero 1.4 standard (adom/component-hero): the footprint's pads as teal dashed outlines at 50 % opacity, its silkscreen at 70 % transparency and the pad numbers 1 and 2 (the terminals have no names). The part is non-polar, so no pin-1 dot is added. The artwork never goes into the STEP, package-reference.glb or the board LODs.

Model checked against the datasheet

The model was rendered in orthographic top, bottom, side and end views at true scale and laid over a drawing made at the same scale from the printed table (nominal outline, tolerance limits, allowed terminal band). Every dimension is inside the printed range: L 1.000 mm (datasheet 0.95 to 1.05), W 0.500 mm (datasheet 0.45 to 0.55), T/H 0.350 mm (datasheet 0.30 to 0.40), I1 (terminal on top) 0.165 mm (datasheet 0.10 to 0.30), I2 (terminal on bottom) 0.165 mm (datasheet 0.15 to 0.35). The model is Z-up, seated on z = 0, centred on the footprint origin, long axis on X.

Board levels of detail

Clean board-use GLBs (no footprint pads, outlines, labels or silkscreen; no marking) in four levels, all in the same Z-up, metre, footprint-origin pose as the STEP. Previews are rendered from each GLB.
