[workspace] Setup no longer runs adom-wiki pkg update: the workspace's own update hook converges packages at boot and every 30 minutes, and the Adom sidebar's Packages section runs it on demand. A tiny os-baseline step keeps the xz-utils fill for v27 images. The image version log honours the v27 floor.
[workspace] Setup's final verification no longer halts a v27 workspace because the pinned image is v28 (the v27 floor applies there too; ConfRoomROG's reinstall run stopped at verify-setup on it).
[front-end] Choose your AI: the first-landing check no longer dies on a settings lookup (it threw 'Settings property not found' on every box since 1.0.439, so a fresh install never recorded or asked about its AIs). It now records a signed-in AI silently and asks only when nobody is signed in.
[front-end] Choose your AI: the first-landing check now leaves a trail in the Hydrogen log (setup state, catalog verdict, what it recorded), so a box that never records its signed-in AI can be diagnosed.
[front-end] Choose your AI: the first-landing check no longer mistakes a workspace that is still waking for one with no AIs installed (arav-rog after 1.0.440 recorded nobody and raised the dialog with Claude signed in). The catalog reports the workspace as not answering and the check retries; the AI bar keeps its last answer instead of publishing nobody.
[front-end] Choose your AI's first check now runs on its own 30 seconds after the editor is ready, so boxes that already have an AI signed in are recorded without the dialog, and fresh boxes see it.
[workspace] After a workspace reset or migration, an earlier Claude sign-in comes back on its own.
[workspace] Fresh installs download golden image v28 (v27 with the package update already applied), so setup skips the multi-minute package walk. Nobody already on v27 or later is ever asked to migrate; that is now a rule in the app. The fleet dashboard shows each machine's image. Choose your AI checks again after the editor settles instead of giving up at first paint.
[workspace] Choose your AI: setup no longer signs you in to Claude. The first time the editor opens, a dialog offers Claude Code and Codex (sign in or an API key), with Kimi Code and Antigravity under More AIs. Skip it and come back any time from Manage AIs in the Adom menu, AI accounts in your profile menu, or the Welcome page.
[front-end] When two editor extension hosts are alive after a reload, Hydrogen now uses the one the editor page itself reports and retires the other, instead of guessing by age every 35 seconds; log lines name the real port.
[front-end] The launch check for a running editor tries three times instead of once, so a busy box right after an update still takes the quiet path.
[front-end] A relaunch whose editor already answers makes no WSL calls at all for its first 90 seconds (1.0.432 still ran two small checks at 2 seconds).
[workspace] A Hydrogen start never runs a global WSL shutdown again: a WSL error is retried and observed for the first minute after boot and for five minutes after an update relaunch, the only automatic remedy after that is restarting Hydrogen's own distro, and a relaunch whose editor already answers makes no WSL calls at launch. The update banner now says whether a release is front-end only.
A dock app relaunches after a wake even when its launch steps were still reloading; the dark cover on a webview names the AI thread from its recipe.
After a wake, stopped widgets and dock apps relaunch, a webview can run the restart command its AI thread left, and a page whose server is gone shows a dark cover naming the thread to ask instead of a white error page. Each repair has a switch in Settings > Recovery.
A Hydrogen Widget can ask for a bigger live view in its hover card; the same widget moves into the card and back without reloading (Adom AI Flow uses it for large pictures).
The project workspace offer card no longer appears at every start; only a newly cloned project gets its one card.
A starting widget's placeholder takes 150 px instead of the manifest width; the widget skill tells third parties how to get listed for everyone.
Hydrogen Widgets relaunch themselves when their program is updated on disk; the widget hover card waits 1200 ms before showing.
Clicks reach Hydrogen Widgets now (the strip is no-drag): the Claude and Codex usage widgets cycle their views on click.
