BMA580 Molecule

Breakout molecule for the Bosch BMA580 accelerometer. The board carries the BMA580 (AC1) with its 100 nF decoupling (C1), an activity LED (D1, 5.1 kΩ series resistor R1), and the Adom press-fit interconnect: 4 machine pins (MP1–MP4) and 3 machine contacts (MC1–MC3).

Component symbol/footprint/3D details are linked through the BMA580 Molecule Library.

Files

  • BMA580.kicad_pro / BMA580.kicad_sch / BMA580.kicad_pcb — the KiCad 8 project (single-sheet schematic).
  • BMA580.glb — pre-rendered 3D board.
  • BMA580.3dshapes/MachinePinMediumShort.step — bundled custom 3D model for the machine pins (the PCB references it by a workspace-relative path that only exists on the author's machine).
  • BMA580.3dshapes/BMA580.stp — chip 3D model for the BMA580 (the project's original file was lost; this is the SnapMagic model for the same part, re-fetched 2026-07-08 via chip-fetcher).
  • BMA580.3dshapes/MachineContactMedium.step — bundled because ${ADOM_LIBRARY_DIR} does not resolve on the wiki render service.

Provenance — 3D model refs. This wiki copy of BMA580.kicad_pcb has its custom (model …) paths normalized to absolute-path form and the BMA580 model transform re-tuned (rotate -90 0 90, offset 0) to fit the SnapMagic STEP — the original project's transform was tuned to a lost file. The copy on Noah's PC is unmodified; pad/net data is untouched.

Known gaps

  • D1 (0402 LED, LCSC C130725) has no wiki component page yet, so it is missing from the linked component list.

Provenance — project files. Pulled unmodified from C:\Users\noah\KiCAD Workspace\bosch-molecules\BMA580 on Noah's PC via the adom-desktop bridge, 2026-07-08. BMA580.glb was rendered by KiCad on the author's machine (April 2026), not by the wiki render service. LCSC part numbers come from the project's JLCPCB BOM-BMA580.csv.
