MCP1700

Microchip Technology · 250 mA low-quiescent LDO · SOT-23

A 250 mA low-dropout regulator built for battery-powered designs, in SOT-23. What sets it apart is its quiescent current: just 1.6 uA typical, so it barely drains a coin cell or Li-ion when the load is idle. It is offered in fixed output voltages (this page is the 3.3 V MCP1700-3302), holds good line and load regulation, and needs only small 1 uF ceramic input and output capacitors for stability. The dropout is modest for the class, so keep the input at least a couple hundred millivolts above the output at full load. Input up to 6 V.
