Premiere Pro Bridge
Let the AI in Hydrogen edit video in Adobe Premiere Pro on your desktop: import footage, build a cut, razor and ripple-delete, add effects and transitions, set audio levels and fades, drop markers, look at rendered frames, and export. It never moves your mouse, types on your keyboard, or steals focus. Every action goes through Adobe's own scripting API inside Premiere.
This package installs the bridge's SKILLS into your container so your AI knows how to drive it; Adom Bridge loads the bridge runtime itself from the release zip.
Install
Don't download the release zip by hand. It's the runtime Adom Bridge fetches for you. Opened directly from a browser download, macOS blocks it ("Apple could not verify it is free of malware") because this first release isn't notarized yet. Install it through Adom Bridge as below; that copy isn't quarantined and runs normally.
From any Hydrogen container connected to your desktop:
# 1. the bridge runtime, on your desktop
adom-bridge bridge_install '{"manifestUrl":"https://wiki.adom.inc/api/v1/pages/premiere-bridge/files/adom-bridge-premiere-manifest-macos.json"}'
# 2. the skills, in this container
adom-wiki pkg install adom/premiere-bridge
# 3. put the plugin inside Premiere (no clicks; Premiere hot-loads it)
adom-bridge premiere_install_plugin
adom-bridge premiere_status
Requirements: macOS on Apple Silicon, Premiere Pro 25.6 or newer (tested on Premiere Pro 2026 / 26.5.2), Adom Bridge 2.x. A Windows build is planned. The code is cross-platform but hasn't been built or tested there yet.
What the AI can do
| Area | Verbs |
|---|---|
| Projects | open, create, save, close; list/import media; bins, rename, labels, subclips, metadata |
| Sequences | list, create (matching clip settings), duplicate, nest; read the full timeline; playhead, in/out, settings |
| Editing | insert, overwrite, append, move, trim, razor, delete / ripple delete, close gaps, enable/disable, duplicate, scene-edit detection |
| Effects | list/add/remove video & audio effects, read and set every parameter, keyframe animation, Motion/Opacity transforms, video transitions, MOGRT titles |
| Audio | clip volume in dB, fades, keyframed levels (ducking), track mute |
| Markers & text | sequence/clip markers, Speech-to-Text transcripts with word timings |
| See the edit | rendered frames inline, contact sheets of the whole cut, a read-only snapshot of the Program Monitor |
| Deliver | export with any .epr preset (H.264, YouTube, ProRes…), in/out ranges, Media Encoder queue, OTIO / FCPXML / AAF |
| Escape hatch | premiere_eval: any JavaScript against Premiere's full premierepro API |
Linked video and audio stay together: trimming, moving, razoring or deleting a clip applies to its linked partner too. Every edit is a single, labelled undo step in Premiere.

Adom UXP plugin inside Premiere ──▶ premierepro API
Adom CEP helper (optional) ──▶ ExtendScript / QE
- The Rust bridge is spawned by Adom Bridge on a stable loopback port. It reports health to the Bridges sidebar and carries both in-app plugins inside its binary.
- The UXP plugin connects out to the bridge, because a UXP plugin can't host a server, and runs each verb.
premiere_install_plugininstalls it with Adobe's own installer and Premiere loads it immediately, with no restart or panel to open. - The CEP helper is an invisible ExtendScript extension that loads when Premiere starts. It adds a true QE razor (keeping effects on both halves), clip speed, and adding/removing/locking tracks: things Adobe's UXP API doesn't expose yet. Without it, razor uses an exact UXP fallback.
Security: the bridge binds to 127.0.0.1 only. It rejects non-JSON and non-POST requests (a web page can't drive it). The plugin WebSocket requires a per-machine token stored under ~/.adom/premiere-bridge/. Installing the CEP helper sets Adobe's per-user PlayerDebugMode=1, which lets unsigned CEP extensions load.
Known limits
The macOS binary is ad-hoc signed, not yet Developer ID signed and notarized. Installing through
bridge_installworks; a manual browser download is blocked by Gatekeeper.Premiere's frame exporter doesn't evaluate keyframes between two keys, so a mid-fade frame shows the before/after state.
premiere_monitor_snapshotshows what Premiere actually displays.UXP has no audio transitions; fade audio with volume keyframes instead (
premiere_audio_fade).Clip speed, adding tracks, and the true razor need the CEP helper, which loads the next time Premiere starts after
premiere_install_plugin.
