Machine Pin Medium Short

Adom press-fit machine pin (Medium / Short) for the Adom modular electronics system. A machine pin (MP) presses into a plated through-hole and mates with a machine contact (MC) on a stacked board (32mm scaffold grid). This page carries the corrected KiCad + Fusion 360 .lbr library and an interactive 3D insertion view.

Mounting: press-fit (Mill-Max style)

The Ø1.2mm pin body presses into a Ø1.1mm plated hole -> 0.1mm diametral interference (solderless press-fit; solder-assisted with the 300um jet paste on the annular ring). The hole is intentionally undersized; this is correct, not a clearance fit.

Dimensions (measured from the STEP)

Feature Value
Pin body OD (press-fit) Ø1.2 mm
Seating flange OD Ø1.6 mm
Tip / lead-in OD Ø0.51 mm
Total height 7.75 mm (2.8 above board, 4.95 below)
Footprint pad Ø1.6 mm
Footprint drill (plated) Ø1.1 mm

Files

  • Fusion 360 library: MachinePinMediumShort.lbr (EAGLE/Fusion, round thru-hole pad + real pin outline symbol)
  • KiCad: MachinePinMediumShort.kicad_sym, MachinePinMediumShort.kicad_mod; STEP: MachinePinMediumShort.step
  • 3D viewer above shows the pin in a 1.6mm FR4 board (50% transparent) with the annular pads, the 300um jet-paste dots, and the press-fit insertion animated.
