100 nH Inductor 0603 - Murata LQM18JNR10J00D
Murata LQM18JNR10J00D: 0603 Chip Inductor, 100 nH ±5%, 650 mA. An Adom Basic Part: Adom keeps it on reels for its pick-and-place line, so boards built with it draw on Adom stock.
Key specs
| Spec | Datasheet |
|---|---|
| 0603 chip coil (chip inductor), LQM18JN series for consumer & industrial equipment, 1.6 × 0.8 mm body, only 0.55 mm tall, 0.004 g | p.1, p.2 |
| 100 nH ±5%, inductance measured at 25 MHz (Keysight 4294A, 1 mA) | p.1, p.2 |
| Q 8 min, also specified at the 25 MHz test frequency | p.1, p.2 |
| DC resistance 0.41 Ω ±25% | p.1 |
| Self-resonant frequency 200 MHz min (Keysight 4991A, 1 mA) | p.1, p.2 |
| Rated current 650 mA on a temperature-rise basis, self-heating limited to 40 °C max | p.1, p.2 |
| Operating and storage range −40 to +85 °C | p.1 |
| Polarity mark printed on the top face (0.32 mm square) | p.2 |
| Inductance can shift in magnetic fields, no magnetised tweezers, and currents above rating risk magnetic saturation | p.9 |
| 8 mm paper tape, 4,000 pcs per reel | p.4 |
Notes for designers
LQM18JNR10J00D is the 100 nH member of Murata's LQM18JN chip-coil series: a 0603 (1.6 × 0.8 mm) inductor standing just 0.55 mm off the board. (p.2) It is specified tight, ±5%, with both inductance and the minimum Q of 8 measured at 25 MHz, and self-resonance held above 200 MHz, (p.1, p.2) so it still behaves as an inductor well into VHF filter territory.
The numbers to design against: 0.41 Ω ±25% of winding resistance (p.1) and a 650 mA rated current that is purely a self-heating limit, 40 °C rise max, the only rated-current criterion the spec gives. (p.1, p.2) Operating range is −40 to +85 °C. (p.1)
Two quirks worth knowing. The top face carries a polarity mark, (p.2) unusual for a small inductor. And the part is magnetically sensitive: Murata warns the inductance can change near magnets (use non-magnetic tweezers) and that current beyond the rating can walk the value through magnetic saturation. (p.9) Solderability is only guaranteed for six months of storage after delivery. (p.9)
Footprint
Redrawn from the datasheet land pattern (the previous pads were off by up to 0.5 mm).
Source: Land pattern from Murata reference specification JELF243B-0077B-01, p.6 (Land dimensions (reflow)).
| mm | Datasheet | KiCad standard (L_0603_1608Metric) | Previous | This page |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pad length (along the part) | 0.55 to 0.65 | 0.875 | 0.9 | 0.6 |
| Pad width | 0.7 | 0.95 | 1 | 0.7 |
| Gap between pads | 0.7 | 0.7 | 0.7 | 0.7 |
| Centre to centre | 1.25 to 1.35 | 1.575 | 1.6 | 1.3 |
| Overall | 1.8 to 2 | 2.45 | 2.5 | 1.9 |
| Corner radius | not specified | 0.2188 (ratio 0.25) | 0.225 (ratio 0.25) | square (as drawn) |
| Corners: square, as the datasheet draws them. The datasheet does not call for rounded corners, so the footprint does not add any. |
Chip outline
The part's 3D outline in the standard pose (pad 1 toward the viewer), drawn from the STEP by Adom's OpenCascade service; the part number sits where the laser-etched mark is on the 3D model and reads the same way.
Symbol options
The default symbol, LQM18JNR10J00D.kicad_sym (the one in the Symbol & Footprint panel), is the plain standard symbol. LQM18JNR10J00D-outline.kicad_sym is the same symbol with the part's 3D chip outline drawn beside it, its part number placed and reading as on the 3D model.
