Notes for designers
IN-S42ATG is the green member of Inolux's IN-S42AT series: a low-profile 0402 top-view indicator LED in a clear, PCB-type moulded package. (p.1) The die is InGaN (p.7) at a dominant wavelength of 525 nm, and at 450 mcd typ it is the brightest coloured member of the series at the 20 mA test point. (p.3)
Forward voltage is 3.3 V typ, up to 4.0 V max (p.3), on a 3.3 V rail there is zero headroom even for a typical part, so this is a 5 V-rail LED: (5 − 3.3) / 0.02 = 85 Ω for the full 20 mA. Use a current-limiting resistor, the datasheet asks for one explicitly (p.12), and keep continuous current at or below 25 mA. (p.2) At 450 mcd most status lights want far less than the test current anyway.
The 130° viewing angle (p.3) makes it a wide-angle panel indicator, reverse voltage is rated to only 5 V, (p.2) and InGaN chips are static-sensitive devices. (p.2) One doc quirk: the ordering table lists 360 mcd typical where the electrical table says 450 mcd (p.7, p.3), this page quotes the electrical-characteristics value.

Polarity: pad 1 = K (cathode, -X), pad 2 = A, matching the symbol (K = pin 1, A = pin 2) and the datasheet's cathode mark; the silkscreen bracket marks the cathode end.
Chip outline
The part's 3D outline in the standard pose (pad 1 toward the viewer), drawn from the STEP by Adom's OpenCascade service; the part number sits where the laser-etched mark is on the 3D model and reads the same way.
Symbol options
The default symbol, IN-S42ATG.kicad_sym (the one in the Symbol & Footprint panel), is the plain standard symbol. IN-S42ATG-outline.kicad_sym is the same symbol with the part's 3D chip outline drawn beside it, its part number placed and reading as on the 3D model.
