Insiders build. Main-thread breadcrumb: the watchdog names the last UI handler entered when it detects a stall.
Insiders build. The main-thread watchdog measures with the awake clock: a sleeping machine is never a hang; the relauncher retries.
Insiders build. Brand body face on every route (the login page read as Times); the not-logged-in door is closed.
Insiders build. Insiders skills re-converge every 24h in a long-running process. First build published with a floor.
Insiders build. The floor (min_supported_version) and the fleet notice toast; sign-out is a decision (#51).
Insiders build. Fleet ping carries user_id and username from the login cache.
Insiders build. Insiders skills delivery as a base64-piped script; WSLg off by default; manifest and route index regenerated.
Insiders build. Insiders skills delivery survives a release outranking the package in the registry.
Insiders build. Insider logins get the adom/insiders skills at every update check, not only at setup.
Insiders build. Insider logins get the adom/insiders skills package at setup; fleet ping.
Insiders build. Two release tiers decided by login: Adom employees and invited insiders receive builds first; the public tier moves only when a human promotes a release. The update banner marks insiders builds with an Insiders chip. Carries 1.0.164's WSLg default, /wsl/gui, and the hydrogen-wslg skill.
WSLg (Linux GUI apps over a built-in Remote Desktop session) is now off by default for the Hydrogen workspace. The workspace is headless, so WSLg only cost a msrdc process, memory, and on older WSL an "unknown publisher" RemoteApp warning on every start.
- Setup writes guiApplications=false into .wslconfig, only if you had not set it yourself; an explicit choice is never overwritten.
- New control API: GET /wsl/gui reports the state, POST /wsl/gui {"enabled":true|false} changes it; a workspace restart applies it.
- New workspace skill hydrogen-wslg: how the AI in the workspace checks or turns WSLg on for you, and the wsl --update fix if the RemoteApp warning appears.
Carries forward 1.0.163: AI Threads fully opt-in behind its Activate button.
AI Threads (beta) is now fully opt-in, and stays off until you turn it on:
- Opening the AI Threads panel shows what it is and an Activate button. Nothing runs, no editor scans, no background loops, until you press it.
- Reading the /ai-threads API while it is off costs nothing and cannot switch it on. Driving calls (sample prompts, the lightbulb, the dock's open-thread-on-launch) are served one-shot without waking the background machinery.
- The 12-second sweep loop that ran from boot on every machine, whether or not the panel was ever opened, now parks until Activate. This is the loop that ran for hours on a frozen test machine.
- If a census cannot reconcile the tree it backs off instead of retrying every sweep.
Also in this release: the "workspace stopped responding" banner fix for newer WebView2 runtimes (Local Network Access), Escape closing every dialog, and self-recovery from a provably deadlocked UI thread, all carried forward from 1.0.160.
Fixes from extended install-and-drive testing on virgin machines:
- Every dialog closes on Escape (key-values, Doctor, container lifecycle). A missing handler could leave an invisible full-page backdrop swallowing clicks.
- Settings, Profile, Ports and API Explorer windows render correctly (1.0.146 could open them blank; retired by this release).
- Local Network Access enforcement in newer WebView2 runtimes could silently break every in-app status fetch (symptom: a permanent "workspace stopped responding" banner over a healthy workspace). The check is now disabled for Hydrogen's own webviews.
- A provably deadlocked UI thread now self-recovers: after 3 minutes of continuous main-thread freeze the app writes a diagnostic dump and restarts itself, once.
- The installer passes /NODESKTOP to the bundled Adom Bridge (no stray desktop shortcut).
- Setup's final act re-applies the clean editor layout, so the first view after install is always uncluttered.
Event-bus heartbeat with self-healing: Hydrogen detects a silenced Rust-to-frontend event channel (toasts, banners, UI commands) and recovers it automatically over CDP. Dock launch interstitial redesigned in the floaty-glass language, with the launch console folded into a quiet activity line plus an opt-in Details drawer. First prompt delivery is transcript-verified only (typed fallback removed). Single-step setup re-runs keep GET /setup/state honest. Welcome fast-fails with a clear message when CDP is unavailable. Webview opens teach the direct mirrored-networking URL when handed a /proxy// route.
First prompt now delivered through the AI Threads API (/ai-threads/run-prompt, transcript-verified) instead of an unverified typed inject. WebView2 debug channel passed through Tauri's browser options so CDP works on machines whose loader ignores the env var (setup screenshots, trusted typing, AI Threads). First-run glass card and main window re-fit when the display changes (RDP reconnect, docking, DPI). Adom Bridge session handoff verified after embedded enter, with a one-time boot-handoff fallback for older ab. Welcome fast-fails on a dead CDP instead of stalling. Webview opens teach the direct mirrored-networking URL when handed a /proxy// route; skills updated to match. Restart card, live WSL2 status, uninstaller progress and silent defaults from 1.0.143 carried forward.
User-owned restart (Restart now / Restart later on the setup card; Hydrogen never forces a reboot), live status narration during the WSL2 install, uninstaller progress + silent-default prompts, first AI prompt delivery race fixed (ai-threads fallback), Adom Bridge embedded-mode identity fallback, post-reboot panic fixes, console-free WSL2 enable, faster Dock Bar launches, Dock Bar settings deep link.
Reliability release for AI-driven prompt delivery: every CDP typing helper now serializes through the AI Threads gate, so concurrent AI callers queue safely instead of destabilizing the editor (apps should require 1.0.142 or newer before driving prompts). Also: an AI Threads tab in the API Explorer, one clean drop-zone indicator when dragging tabs with Escape canceling the drag, an optional lightbulb menu (hidden by default), and POST /hbw/close.
