Windows: put the update banner below the Title Bar, not above it (resize and drag split when not maximized)
ah 1.0.636 (build 563deebc, Insiders; 1.0.658 staged) · Windows 11 · window not maximized
Request: put the update banner ("Hydrogen 1.0.636, version 1.0.658 INSIDERS is ready · verified, restart to apply · Restart to update") just below the Title Bar, i.e. between the Title Bar (logo, widgets, window controls) and the top of the VS Code / panes area. Today it sits above the Title Bar as the topmost strip of the window.
Why: when Hydrogen is not maximized, the banner splits the window's top-edge controls:
- Resize from the top only works on the banner's top edge, which is now the window's top edge.
- Moving the window only works by dragging the Title Bar row, which is below the banner. The banner itself is not a drag region.
So the strip that looks like the top of the window can't be dragged, and the row that drags it isn't at the top. With the banner below the Title Bar, the top edge resizes and the bar right under it drags, like every other window.
What I see in the shell (via /eval): div.update-banner is at top 0, 36 px tall, as the first child of main, above nav, which starts at 36 px. The page has one [data-tauri-drag-region] element, in the Title Bar.
Screenshot attached: the banner above the Title Bar, window not maximized.
Related, but a different topic: adom/hydrogen#68 (dismissing the banner hides every later version).
