markdown47 Ω Ferrite Bead 0402 - Murata BLM15BA470SN1D
Murata BLM15BA470SN1D: 0402 Ferrite Bead, 47 Ω @ 100 MHz, 200 mA. An Adom Basic Part: Adom keeps it on reels for its pick-and-place line, so boards built with it draw on Adom stock.
Key specs
| Spec | Datasheet |
|---|---|
| 0402 chip ferrite bead, BLM15_SN series, 1.0 × 0.5 × 0.5 mm, 0.25 mm end electrodes, 0.001 g, no marking | p.4 |
| Impedance 47 Ω ±25% typical at 100 MHz (measured 100 MHz ±1 MHz, Keysight 4291A with 16192A fixture) | p.2, p.4 |
| Grouped “For high speed signal line” in the series rating table | p.2 |
| Rated current 200 mA, and unmarked by the *1 flag, so the 85 → 125 °C derating curve applied to power-line members does not apply | p.2, p.3 |
| DC resistance 0.60 Ω max initial, 0.65 Ω max after testing | p.2 |
| Operating and storage range −55 to +125 °C | p.3 |
| Equivalent circuit is L in series with R, the resistance element becomes dominant at high frequencies, so noise is dissipated rather than reflected | p.4 |
| 8 mm paper tape at 2 mm pitch, 10,000 pcs per reel | p.6 |
Notes for designers
BLM15BA470SN1D is a 0402 chip ferrite bead from Murata's BLM15 SN series, filed in the rating table under “for high speed signal line”. (p.2) Its label value is 47 Ω ±25% at 100 MHz (p.2), an impedance at one spot frequency, not a resistance, and the equivalent circuit note explains the useful part: at high frequency the resistive element dominates, so RF noise is burned off as heat instead of being reflected back down the line. (p.4)
The DC-side numbers are the ones that bite. DC resistance is allowed up to 0.60 Ω initially (0.65 Ω after environmental testing) (p.2) and the rated current is just 200 mA (p.2), fine in series with a signal or a lightly-loaded supply pin, wrong for a power rail. Within those limits it works from −55 to +125 °C with no derating note attached to its table row. (p.3) It ships 10,000 to an 8 mm paper-tape reel. (p.6)
Footprint
Redrawn from the datasheet land pattern (the previous pads were off by up to 0.2 mm).
Source: Land pattern from Murata reference specification JENF243A-0018AJ-01 (BLM15 SN series), p.7 (Land pattern designing, standard land dimensions (reflow)).

| Corners: square, as the datasheet draws them. The datasheet does not call for rounded corners, so the footprint does not add any. |
Chip outline
The part's 3D outline in the standard pose (pad 1 toward the viewer), drawn from the STEP by Adom's OpenCascade service; the part number sits where the laser-etched mark is on the 3D model and reads the same way.
Symbol options
The default symbol, BLM15BA470SN1D.kicad_sym (the one in the Symbol & Footprint panel), is the plain standard symbol. BLM15BA470SN1D-outline.kicad_sym is the same symbol with the part's 3D chip outline drawn beside it, its part number placed and reading as on the 3D model.
