TCAN330

Texas Instruments · CAN transceiver · SOT-23-8

Physical-layer transceiver between a CAN or CAN FD controller and the bus, running from a single 3.3 V supply in a small SOT-23-8. TXD and RXD face the controller, CANH and CANL the bus, and an S pin selects normal or a low-current standby with bus wakeup. It meets ISO 11898-2 at data rates to 5 Mbps and tolerates the wide bus common-mode and ESD that industrial and automotive wiring demand. A compact 3.3 V CAN FD front end for space-limited boards.

6 CANL bidirectional Low-side CAN bus I/O. Together with CANH forms the differential CAN pair. ±14 V bus fault protection and ±12 kV IEC 61000-4-2 contact-discharge ESD protection to GND.
7 CANH bidirectional High-side CAN bus I/O. Together with CANL forms the differential CAN pair. ±14 V bus fault protection and ±12 kV IEC 61000-4-2 contact-discharge ESD protection to GND.
8 S input Silent mode select input for TCAN330. Drive HIGH to disable the transmitter (listen-only silent mode); receiver remains active and mirrors bus traffic on RXD. Integrated pull-down defaults the device to normal mode.
