3.3 V CAN bus transceiver in a SOIC-8 package, compatible with ISO 11898-2. It converts an MCU's logic-level TXD/RXD to the differential CANH/CANL bus at data rates up to 1 Mbps, and the RS pin selects high-speed, slope-controlled, or a low-current (~370 µA) standby mode. The bridge between a microcontroller's CAN peripheral and the physical bus; terminate the bus with 120 ohm at each end.

8 RS input Mode-select pin. Strong pull-down to GND selects high-speed mode; strong pull-up to VCC (V(Rs) ≥ 0.75·VCC) selects low-power standby mode; a 10 kΩ–100 kΩ resistor to GND selects slope-control mode (slew rate ≈ 15 V/µs at 10 kΩ, ≈ 2 V/µs at 100 kΩ).
