3 N/C unconnected No internal function pin. Per datasheet, pin 3 must be left floating or connected to pin 2 (ANODE). Do NOT connect pin 3 to pin 1 (CATHODE) - the die is attached to pin 1, which puts pin 3 at the die substrate potential.
