A CMOS 16-channel analog multiplexer/demultiplexer in a SOIC-24, the big brother of the CD4051B. A 4-bit binary address (S0-S3) connects one of sixteen channels (I0-I15) to the single COMMON pin, bidirectionally, so it reads sixteen analog inputs into one MCU ADC pin or fans one signal out to sixteen. An active-low enable (~E) floats all channels when high. It passes signals rail to rail across a 2-6 V supply with low on-resistance and break-before-make switching. The go-to part for scanning many sensors or buttons on a single pin.
