TPS63060

Texas Instruments · Buck-boost converter · WSON-10

Holds a regulated output whether the input is above or below it, so a battery that sags through the target voltage still delivers a steady rail. It runs from 2.5 to 12 V, switches at up to 2.4 MHz with 2 A integrated switches, and a resistor divider at FB sets the output, with a power-save mode for light-load efficiency. A PS/SYNC pin picks the switching mode. Common where a Li-ion or multi-cell pack must make a fixed 3.3 or 5 V across its whole discharge.

Pinout

Pin Name Type Function
1 L1 passive Connection for the external power inductor between the VIN-side switch node and the buck-boost inductor. Absolute max -0.3 V to 17 V (AC transients -5 V to 18 V for <10 ns).
2 VIN power_in Supply voltage for the power stage. Recommended operating range 2.5 V to 12 V; absolute max 17 V. Bypass with CIN to GND close to the pin.
3 EN input Enable input. Logic 1 enables the converter, logic 0 disables it and disconnects the load. VIL max 0.4 V, VIH min 1.2 V. Do not leave floating.
4 PS/SYNC input Power-save mode select and synchronization input. Logic 1 disables power-save (forced fixed-frequency PWM), logic 0 enables power-save mode; can also accept a 2.2-2.6 MHz clock for synchronization.
5 PG output Power-good open-drain output. High (via external pull-up) when VOUT is in regulation; low on failure. VOL 0.04 V typ at 10 uA, leakage 0.01 uA typ.
6 VAUX power_out Internal auxiliary bias rail output; connect a bypass capacitor (CAUX) to GND. Tracks the higher of VIN or VOUT, clamped at 7 V; max load 1 mA.
7 GND power_in Control and logic ground reference for the analog control circuitry.
8 FB input Feedback input. On the adjustable TPS63060, connect the external resistor divider from VOUT to set output voltage (VFB = 500 mV typ, 2.5-8 V range). On the fixed TPS63061 this pin must be tied to VOUT.
9 VOUT power_out Buck-boost converter output. Regulated 2.5 V to 8 V (adjustable) or 5 V (TPS63061); up to 2 A in buck mode (VIN<10 V) or 1.3 A in boost mode (VIN>4 V). Bypass with COUT.
10 L2 passive Connection for the external power inductor between the VOUT-side switch node and the buck-boost inductor. Absolute max -0.3 V to 17 V (AC transients -5 V to 18 V for <10 ns).
11 PGND power_in Exposed thermal pad on the package underside. Must be soldered to the PCB for adequate power dissipation and must be connected to PGND (power ground plane).
