Texas Instruments · Level translator · SOIC-14
Translates four logic signals between two voltage domains in either direction, without a direction pin: it senses which side is driving and follows automatically. The A side (VCCA) and B side (VCCB) each set their own rail from 1.65 to 5.5 V, so a 1.8 V SoC drives a 3.3 or 5 V peripheral and vice versa, and an OE pin three-states all channels. Integrated edge-rate control and pull-ups suit it to push-pull and lightly-loaded open-drain lines. A common glue part for mixed-voltage GPIO, SPI, and UART.
Pinout
| Pin | Name | Type | Function |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | VCCA | power_in | A-port supply voltage. 1.65 V ≤ VCCA ≤ 3.6 V and VCCA ≤ VCCB. Sets the OE threshold and the A-side signal level. |
| 2 | A1 | bidirectional | Bidirectional I/O channel 1, A side. Referenced to VCCA. Auto-sensing direction, supports push-pull and open-drain. |
| 3 | A2 | bidirectional | Bidirectional I/O channel 2, A side. Referenced to VCCA. |
| 4 | A3 | bidirectional | Bidirectional I/O channel 3, A side. Referenced to VCCA. |
| 5 | A4 | bidirectional | Bidirectional I/O channel 4, A side. Referenced to VCCA. |
| 6 | NC | unconnected | No internal connection. May be left floating or tied to GND. |
| 7 | GND | power_in | Ground reference. Also the reference return for both supplies. |
| 8 | OE | input | 3-state output-mode enable, referenced to VCCA. High = translator active. Low = all outputs Hi-Z. For a defined Hi-Z state at power-up/down, tie OE to GND through a pull-down resistor. |
| 9 | NC | unconnected | No internal connection. |
| 10 | B4 | bidirectional | Bidirectional I/O channel 4, B side. Referenced to VCCB. |
| 11 | B3 | bidirectional | Bidirectional I/O channel 3, B side. Referenced to VCCB. |
| 12 | B2 | bidirectional | Bidirectional I/O channel 2, B side. Referenced to VCCB. |
| 13 | B1 | bidirectional | Bidirectional I/O channel 1, B side. Referenced to VCCB. |
| 14 | VCCB | power_in | B-port supply voltage. 2.3 V ≤ VCCB ≤ 5.5 V, and must be ≥ VCCA. Sets the B-side signal level. |
