SOT-223

The SOT-223 bridges the gap between tiny SOT-23 and bulky TO-220 packages. With a 6.5 x 3.5mm body and a large tab for heat dissipation, it handles up to 1–2W without a heatsink. The three signal pins plus a large tab (connected to pin 2) provide excellent thermal performance. Standard package for AMS1117 and AP1117 LDO regulator families. The 3D model shows the asymmetric body with prominent thermal tab.
