TPS62203

Texas Instruments · Switching regulator (buck) · SOT-23-5

Small synchronous buck converter that steps a 2.5 to 6 V input down to a regulated rail at up to 300 mA, in a five-pin SOT-23. Both switches are integrated and it runs near 1 MHz, so the inductor and capacitors are tiny, and a power-save mode keeps efficiency high at light load for battery use. A resistor divider at FB sets the output and EN shuts it down. A compact point-of-load supply for a single sensor or subsystem.

1 VI power_in Supply voltage input pin. Recommended operating range 2.5 V to 6 V (absolute max 7 V). Requires a >=4.7 µF ceramic input capacitor to GND close to the pin.
2 GND power_in Device ground. All voltage measurements are referenced to this pin.
3 EN input Enable input. Pulling this pin to GND forces the device into shutdown. Pulling to VI enables the device. Must not be left floating and must be terminated.
4 FB input Feedback pin. For the fixed-output-voltage version (TPS62203 = 1.8 V fixed), connect FB directly to the output. For the adjustable version an external resistor divider sets Vout; the internal divider is disabled in that mode.
5 SW output Switch node. Connect the external inductor (typ. 10 µH) between this pin and the output. Internally connected to the high-side and low-side MOSFET switches.
