TMP75

Texas Instruments · Digital temperature sensor · SOIC-8

Digital temperature sensor with an I2C / SMBus interface in the industry-standard LM75 form factor and pinout, in a SOIC-8 package. A 12-bit ADC gives 0.0625 °C resolution with ±1 °C typical accuracy, and a programmable ALERT output flags over-temperature. Three address pins (A0-A2) allow up to eight sensors on one bus. The default board-temperature monitor; no external components beyond a bypass cap.

Pinout

Pin Name Type Function
1 SDA bidirectional Serial data line for the I2C/SMBus/Two-Wire interface. Open-drain output; requires an external pull-up resistor (typ. 4.7 kΩ). VIH ≥ 0.7·V+, VIL ≤ 0.3·V+; VOL ≤ 0.4 V at IOL = 3 mA.
2 SCL input Serial clock line for the I2C/SMBus/Two-Wire interface. Open-drain; requires an external pull-up resistor (typ. 4.7 kΩ). Supports standard, fast, and high-speed modes up to 3.4 MHz.
3 ALERT output Overtemperature alert / SMBus Alert output. Open-drain; requires an external pull-up resistor. VOL ≤ 0.4 V at IOL = 4 mA. Asserted when the measured temperature crosses the programmed THIGH/TLOW thresholds per the configuration register.
4 GND power_in Device ground reference (0 V).
5 A2 input I2C slave-address select bit 2. Tie to GND or V+ to set the corresponding address bit. May be left floating on the TMP75 for a third state, giving up to 8 selectable addresses.
6 A1 input I2C slave-address select bit 1. Tie to GND or V+ to set the corresponding address bit. May be left floating on the TMP75 for a third state.
7 A0 input I2C slave-address select bit 0. Tie to GND or V+ to set the corresponding address bit. May be left floating on the TMP75 for a third state.
8 V+ power_in Positive supply voltage input, 2.7 V to 5.5 V (absolute max 6.5 V on TMP75). Quiescent current typically 50 µA active, 0.1 µA in shutdown. A 0.01 µF bypass capacitor to GND is recommended.
