Live 2026-10-15: the HideFileExt fix proven with extensions hidden. And a quit then immediate start was called ready 4 s after attach; a new_document 11 s after attach returned OK while SOLIDWORKS died. Now a performance-log marker counts only beyond the log's state at launch/quit (unless rewritten), a fresh attach needs StartupProcessCompleted TRUE + its own marker + 20 s since attach (evidence with ages, ledgered), new_document/open/import verify the effect on the live session (host_app_died / document_not_created, never ok), and a start right after a quit waits for that session's process tree. 691 tests.

The ledger showed the 2026-10-15 File Open came from the launch supervisor: a 2 min 13 s 3DEXPERIENCE helper sign-in was called a stall, the chain killed and the shortcut invoked again, and the second invoke reached the already-starting SOLIDWORKS as an open request. helperSignIn now pauses the stall clocks (only a dead chain stalls; past 600 s the launch stops, never retries); a retry never re-invokes while a SOLIDWORKS from this launch exists (launch_retry_declined, wait to attach); each route invocation is a verb for the dialog census, and an empty File Open a route provably raised is cancelled by the launch and by swx_start, ledgered. 684 tests.

A File Open dialog appeared mid-battery on 2026-10-15 and blocked every swx_stop; the census could not say where it came from and swx_state once missed it. Every verb is now bracketed by a native dialog census (dialogsAppeared, ledgered), swx_state's census is native and deterministic (screenshot:false included), swx_stop's refusal names the dialog with its owner, age and attribution, and swx_dismiss_blocking_dialogs may cancel exactly one kind: the standard file dialog with an empty name that a bridge verb provably raised. Quit rung b verifies swCommands_App_Exit from the interop. 681 tests.

Lines, arcs, polylines, tangent arcs, slots, polygons, sketch fillets/chamfers and construction geometry, with contours checked closed before drawing; revolve/revolve_cut, mirror (features or bodies), hole (plain/counterbore/countersink), up-to-next / up-to-surface / offset-from-surface end conditions, draft, planes offset from a face, set_material densityKgM3; swx_mass_properties in grams/mm with the centre of mass. The CSWA benchmark (resources/cswa: LEGO, 3dengr Q5-Q9, the official Tool Block steps 1-3) runs with swx_selftest level cswa and tools/cswa-check.py; release.sh --require-live gates publishing on a passing live report. Every new op is NOT YET MEASURED LIVE (proven.live:false). 677 tests.

Michael's SOLIDWORKS 2021 self-test: every modelling check passed and the LEGO brick matched 2026; the 6 failures were one bug - the scratch part addressed by a title with .SLDPRT while Windows hides known extensions. Titles now match extension-insensitively everywhere; the self-test addresses its parts by path, leaves nothing open (cut-off runs are cleaned up by the next one, reported by swx_status), and says to call it with responseMode stream/job. OP_FACTS records the 2021 community measurement. 639 tests.

A battery run while Drew was at the keyboard piled 18 of the bridge's scratch windows on his screen: every close was refused for his presence while every new part was allowed. Now, while the user is at the machine, the self-test and bridge-purpose documents and scripts wait for idle and then refuse with user_present, creating nothing; a user's own script is still allowed and says the user is active. swx_reset_workspace closes the bridge's own never-saved scratch even while the user is present, except the active document. The self-test stops (stoppedFor userPresent) instead of ploughing on, run_script reports documentsLeftOpen, and swx_status always carries userPresence.

0.10.7's full live self-test completed with no throttling, attribution by ancestry and 15 documents instead of more than 32. Its 3 failures were one bug: clear_part's single DeleteSelection2 left a top-level sketch that an earlier check had left unconsumed. clear_part now walks the tree again after every delete and deletes what is left (by IFeature::Select2, or by name with its own type, such as SKETCH, when that refuses), up to 5 passes, succeeding only on an empty tree and reporting passes and deleted. If a shared part still will not clear, swx_selftest runs that check in a fresh part and records reuseFallback, so a check fails only on its own geometry.

The live run of 0.10.6 decided the design. Hidden documents cannot be modelled (SOLIDWORKS selects only in the active document), so everything is visible by default and modelling a hidden part is refused up front with document_hidden. One reused visible document kept SOLIDWORKS flat over 12 builds, so swx_selftest runs its checks in one reused part, reports documentsCreated, and ends by respawning the bridge's COM host. The Connected edition's re-parenting launcher left launches unattributed; the bridge now claims the one new sldworks.exe of the launch window (ancestry first, never with two candidates). The self-test no longer stops for memory held by other applications: it reports high pressure and stops only at critical, or when SOLIDWORKS itself is over budget in a session it may not recycle.

Measured live: every scratch document created and closed left SOLIDWORKS about 83 MB and 125 handles heavier. Documents the bridge makes for itself are now created hidden (visible:false, ISldWorks::DocumentVisible put back on every path and ledgered); user scripts stay visible by default. A new clear_part op and run_script reuseDocument let a battery reuse one part the bridge created, and swx_selftest does this and reports documentsCreated. swx_com_respawn restarts only the bridge's COM host to release its references and never calls SOLIDWORKS. The 0.10.5 recycle stays as the backstop.

After a live low-memory incident (committed memory at 94 %, with the bridge-started SOLIDWORKS holding 10.6 GB and no documents open): swx_status.memory reports the commit charge, SOLIDWORKS's share and the five largest holders, as read-only facts. At critical, verbs that create or load geometry are refused with low_commit_memory and change nothing; ignoreMemoryPressure with a reason overrides, and the override is ledgered. swx_selftest write recycles only a session the bridge started with no documents open, and otherwise stops. Every ledger line carries a memory sample. The solidworks-memory skill ships as the third skill. Eight more variants are now marked measured live on 2026.

0.10.3 passed 30 of 30 live checks on SOLIDWORKS 2026, and swx_selftest write passed 43 with none failed (docs/LIVE-RESULTS.md). Each swx_run_script step now reports proven as live plus measuredOn in place of false. live is true only when every variant the step ran was measured on the release it ran on. Unmeasured variants are named, such as a reversed boss, through all on a boss, Right Plane sketches and the later selection rungs. One table in compat.rs feeds the steps, swx_describe and swx_selftest. The shell result reports its route. No other behaviour change.

The first live run on SOLIDWORKS 2026 passed 20 of 30 checks. All 10 failures were one bug: MultiSelect2 with a VARIANT array selected nothing, so face sketches, fillet, chamfer and shell failed. Selection is now a verified ladder: MultiSelect2 with a typed array, then IEntity.Select4, then SelectByRay with the bridge's own ray, then SelectByID2 at the point, which depends on the view. Each rung counts only when the selection count grows. Every step reports the rung that worked as selectedVia.

An independent review checked every new COM call against the 2021 API help: signatures, argument counts, units and enums were right; the risks were behavioural, and each is fixed. Faces and edges are picked by geometry (GetClosestPointOn over every face/edge, MultiSelect2), never through the view; sketch coordinates go through each sketch's own ModelToSketchTransform from the base plane's validated frame, a boss from a face goes outward and a cut inward; offset planes are found by tree position (IRefPlane has no name), their side and axis directions are read back; fillet edges are de-duplicated; a material no longer wipes a colour set earlier in the script; the extrude re-selects its sketch by name; the pinned document is activated and the user's active document restored (and ActivateDoc3 no longer passes 0 = prompt); default planes by position (localized installs); density = mass/volume per body; FeatureFillet3 falls back to CreateFeature; direction both: depthMm the op's own way. A failed script's new part is now owned. swx_selftest level write is a 31-check GEOMETRIC proof with expected vs measured per row (the tools/dsl-live-check.py battery). The simulator models every hazard. 587 tests.

Measured on hosted 0.10.0 with SOLIDWORKS closed: swx_selftest counted swx_docs and swx_get_preferences as failures ('SOLIDWORKS is not running'). Every check that needs SOLIDWORKS is now skipped with the reason, the summary says solidworksRunning:false, the hint's first sentence asks to start SOLIDWORKS, and level:'write' is refused up front (solidworks_not_running) and changes nothing. swx_status.solidworks.classicYears said [2026] on the 3DEXPERIENCE 2026 install: registryYears now carries the raw registry years, classicYears only years with no 3DEXPERIENCE entry or install path for the same release ([] there); the edition decision is unchanged. 576 tests.

Issue #1 (Michael, SOLIDWORKS 2021). swx_run_script: one sketch holds several rect/circle profiles (rings, walls, hole patterns); sketches on offset planes {offsetFrom, offsetMm} and faces {atPointMm}; rect anchor corner|center; extrude/cut take reverse, direction both, midPlane, throughAll; a feature SOLIDWORKS returns null is an error; new ops fillet, chamfer, shell, linear_pattern, circular_pattern, set_appearance (read back by swx_inspect_bodies); the coordinate conventions are documented in the help, the reference and the skill. examples/lego-2x4.json builds the LEGO 2x4 brick in 4 features (simulated volume 2073.3615 mm3, the volume SOLIDWORKS 2021 measured for Michael's brick; UNMEASURED live). docs/COMPATIBILITY.md audits all 149 COM members against help.solidworks.com: newest is 2017, so solidworks >=2021 is declared supported (2026 tested). swx_status.solidworks.majorVersion/versionSupport; needs_solidworks_version gating; classic-install detection by registry year; SWX_PROGID. New verb swx_selftest: per-verb pass/fail on any install. 575 tests.

Issue #2 (Michael, SOLIDWORKS 2021). swx_inspect_bodies passed 0.0 to IBody2::GetMassProperties, whose argument is the DENSITY (help.solidworks.com, Availability 2001Plus), so massKg was volume x 1. Each body's mass now uses the density of an IMassProperty restricted to that body (AddBodies), else the part's; densityKgM3 + densitySource in the reply; agrees with swx_mass_properties; unreadable density -> massKg null. swx_run_script decides bridgeCreatedDocument with the same path-based ownership test as every other verb and pins its target by path. Audit: the registry's forget/rename after a close or Save As now match by path. 565 tests.
