Reports temperature as an analog voltage, so an ADC reads it directly with no interface or calibration. The output falls about 5.5 mV per degree C over a -50 to 150 C range, sitting near mid-supply at room temperature, and the low 5.4 uA supply current suits battery designs. Its low output impedance drives an ADC input or a comparator without a buffer. A small, cheap analog thermometer, the SC70 sibling to the classic LM35.
