LM339BIDR quad comparator

Texas Instruments quad open-collector comparator in the 14-pin SOIC D package. External output pull-ups are required. This catalog record supplies the exact electrical pin map, a TI-example land pattern, and original nominal mechanical assets for circuit and assembly review.

The assets are provisional. Neither a render nor library validation qualifies soldering, operating limits, fault response, or a physical assembly.

Pin mapping

Pin TI name Project channel label
1 OUT1 OUT_B
2 OUT2 OUT_A
3 VCC VCC
4 / 5 IN2− / IN2+ IN−_A / IN+_A
6 / 7 IN1− / IN1+ IN−_B / IN+_B
8 / 9 IN3− / IN3+ IN−_D / IN+_D
10 / 11 IN4− / IN4+ IN−_C / IN+_C
12 GND GND
13 OUT4 OUT_C
14 OUT3 OUT_D

Numbers follow TI Table 5-1. The project uses A–D labels; those labels preserve the same input/output pairings. Do not substitute the 16-pin WQFN pin map.

Mechanical assets

The original nominal STEP follows TI D0014A, drawing 4220718/A (09/2016): body 3.9 × 8.65 mm, lead span 6.0 mm, total height 1.55 mm, 1.27 mm pitch and 0.41 mm lead width. The drawing allows body width 3.8–4.0 mm, length 8.55–8.75 mm, span 5.8–6.2 mm, maximum height 1.75 mm and lead width 0.31–0.51 mm.

Taper, polygonal lead bends and finishes are illustrative. Mold flash, bend radii, internal die, factory ink and manufacturer pin-index details are not reproduced. The virtual full MPN is identification artwork, not factory marking. The hero adds nonphysical pad outlines, signal names and a pin-1 reference dot. Use the clean board-use model for assemblies, never the annotated hero.

The footprint transcribes TI's example 1.55 × 0.60 mm pads on 5.4 mm row spacing. This is a land-pattern example, not a fabrication-process approval. The project board's generic footprint remains a separately reviewed variant.

Reproduction and use

build_model.py runs with OCP in the existing shared STEP service environment. build_library.py extracts the original project symbol and constructs the documented land-pattern input. STEP uses millimeters; GLB uses meters with Z up and the seating plane at zero. Symbol pin numbers equal footprint pad numbers. Native KiCad model bindings point to the supplied nominal STEP. The hub interchange may omit that STEP association; preserve the native file and component metadata.
