Commercial load selection
Checked 2026-10-07. US dollars unless stated. Listings are not binding quotes.
| Instrument | Listed price | Integration | Decision |
|---|---|---|---|
| Siglent SDL1020X-E | $574 | 200 W, 150 V, 30 A; USB/LAN/RS232, SCPI, remote sense | Preferred price/function balance; use 5 A range for this DUT |
| Rigol DL3021 | $549 | 200 W, 150 V, 40 A; programmable bench load | Credible lower-cost alternative; no downloadable manufacturer CAD located |
| B&K 8600 | $1,610 | 150 W; USBTMC/RS232 and remote control | More expensive; no CAD advantage verified |
| B&K 8542B | $1,055 | 150 W; included TTL-to-USB adapter | Costs more; less convenient interface |
| Zahner EL1002 | Quote required | Manufacturer STEP explicitly available; 1 kW electrochemical instrument, 21.5 kg | Verified CAD availability, but exceeds scaffold's documented 20 kg project mass before a carrier; no affordable quote verified |
CAD search also checked SDL1000X downloads, Rigol DL3021 CAD search, Aim-TTi LD400P, and KWK KELB15. Distributor generic CAD links are not evidence of a usable model. No Siglent manufacturer STEP was located; this is not a claim none exists. The shipped reconstruction must distinguish documented envelope dimensions from estimated cosmetic geometry and unverified connector locations.
The Siglent's manufacturer datasheet gives 256 W x 115 H x 410 D mm, 5.8 kg, minimum operating voltage 0.15 V at 5 A on the low range. The 5 V / 1 A DUT is within that envelope. CC setting resolution is 1 mA; resolution is not accuracy. At 1 A on the 5 A range, the E model's CC accuracy expression gives ±6 mA under the datasheet's conditions.
The final standardization decision requires instrument receipt, calibration check, fit/airflow verification, and a measured DUT run. Bench thermal/protection ratings do not qualify a custom carrier.
