Reload integration validation
Validated against code-server with the upstream OpenAI Codex extension 26.901.22334 on 2026-09-06.
- Fourteen Python tests cover installer preservation and idempotence, JSONC settings, opt-in gating, recognized and changed VSIX updates, uninstall, native-version selection, downgrade refusal and transport continuity.
- A JavaScript lifecycle test covers hidden, visible, hidden-again, ready and disposed panels; sidebar startup retains upstream behavior.
- The real native backend completed one deterministic local HTTP model-fixture request across three proxy replacements. No real model was called by the test.
- A simulated binary upgrade refused to stop that active turn even with no connected UI. After the turn completed and clients closed, the replacement backend reopened the saved conversation.
- A live editor reload preserved backend PID and ongoing conversations. Fusion and KiCad tabs opened after remaining hidden beyond the old 30-second deadline, with composers present and no startup-error page or writer-conflict alert. Computed composer mask-image was none.
- The install tarball was extracted into a temporary directory, installed in an isolated home and uninstalled. The runtime imported its bundled WebSocket dependency with Python site packages disabled.
This validates the current upstream extension and the guarded adaptation path. It does not claim arbitrary future minified code is compatible, or continuity across container shutdown. Unrecognized upstream startup code is left unchanged and reported in integration status.
