Guides are compiled into the binary: a page-repo edit to guides/export-wiki.md never reaches installs
The guide files are embedded in the binary, so a page-repo push does not ship them
Versions: adom-tsci 1.4.24 · adom-wiki 1.7.4.
I rewrote guides/export-wiki.md on the adom/adom-tsci page repo (it was
describing a publish path the wiki no longer does — an auto-rendered
tsci-viewer asset iframe — and predated every CSP-sandbox failure a board
author now hits). Pushed at ed21612.
Then ran adom-tsci install and got the old guide back:
$ adom-wiki repo push adom/adom-tsci --files guides/export-wiki.md # new text lands on the page
$ adom-tsci install
OK: installed export-wiki guide to ~/.claude/skills/adom-tsci/guides/export-wiki.md
$ head -1 ~/.claude/skills/adom-tsci/guides/export-wiki.md
# adom-tsci/export-wiki — publishing a tscircuit molecule to the Adom Wiki <- stale
So the guides adom-tsci install deploys are compiled into the binary, not
read from the page repo. That means:
- The page and the installed skill can silently disagree, and today they do.
- Anyone fixing a guide via the page repo (the obvious move, and what
wiki-bloatexplicitly tells you to do instead of minting a new page) has no way to actually ship it. package.jsonfiles[]listsguides/*.md, which reads like they are the source of truth. They are not.
Ask: either pull the guides from the page repo at install time, or treat
the source repo as canonical and make that explicit in the page (a line in
README.md saying "guides are built into the binary; edit them in
adom-inc/adom-tsci, not here").
Also in that push, for the next release: three helper scripts landed at
scripts/ on the page repo — glb-datauri-textures.mjs (embedded GLB images
→ data: URIs, which is the only form the readme sandbox accepts),
glb-make-zup.mjs (Y-up → Z-up bake so the wiki's native viewer does not
stand the board on edge) and glb-inspect.mjs. adom-tsci install does not
deploy scripts/, so the guide currently tells readers to curl them. Worth
folding into the installer.
Context and the full set of failures: adom/evan-led-nameplate, plus
adom/wiki#60 (the localStorage
abort — reported and closed, but the unguarded read is still in the shipped
viewer bundle) and adom/wiki#144.
