import-altium: Altium overbar notation (S\S\) is not converted to KiCad ~{SS}

Colby Knox · 19d ago ·closed by Colby Knox

Altium's overbar notation passes through import-altium literally.

Altium writes an active-low name as a backslash after each overbarred character: S\S\ is S-bar S-bar. In the megaAVR IntLib, pin 14 is PB0 (S\S\/PCINT0). After export-kicad the KiCad symbol shows the backslashes: (name "PB0 (S\\S\\/PCINT0)").

Expected: convert runs of X\ to KiCad's ~{...} (here PB0 (~{SS}/PCINT0)), and to EAGLE's !..! on the Fusion lane.

Fixed in 2.47.0.

Altium overbars (S\S\) become KiCad ~{SS} on import. generate turns ~{SS} into EAGLE !SS! for the Fusion lane, and the Altium encoder writes it back as S\S\. Pin 14 of 90USB162-16AU now reads PB0 (~{SS}/PCINT0) in KiCad and PB0_!SS!/PCINT0 in the .lbr, and it passes lint.
