John Lauer R0 engineering checkpoint: checked schematic, sourcing, servo evidence and safety-policy code; PCB and qualification incomplete 10054d3 55m ago

Engineering status — 2026-10-07

Implemented: independent 102-component/52-net connectivity source; hierarchical KiCad schematic; native two-layer molecule board outline with fixed machine pins/contacts and staged components; sourced semiconductor candidates; portable package models; generated nominal Kelvin shunt model; TI-amplifier/approximate-MOSFET transient sensitivity study; portable C load-safety policy and host tests; AI Flow run and raw build clips.

Verified: native KiCad 10.0.5 schematic ERC has zero findings after the Kelvin-ground correction; every intended net matches the native exported schematic netlist. Six current-loop sensitivity cases settle within the selected windows with 1 nF compensation. Safety-core tests pass with compiler warnings treated as errors and address/undefined-behavior sanitizers. Native board and 3D setup views were inspected; they show the outline and machine interfaces, with the remaining components still staged outside the board.

Not complete: manufacturer-level CAD audit, all live inventory counts, mechanical cooling assembly, final mechanical placement, routing, DRC-clean PCB, Fields/current/thermal analysis, fabrication exports, MCU firmware/HAL/USB integration, control-panel dashboard, assembled hardware, calibration and industrial qualification. Do not fabricate from this draft. The 25 W/24 V/3 A envelope is provisional and simultaneous; the first DUT is the 5 V/1 A buck. Firmware policy limits bring-up to 5 W.

The schematic capture attempt failed with an encoder initialization timeout. Other raw clips are available, but the static component setup clip is excluded from the planned action edit. No final narrated demo or YouTube publication exists.

A read-only Bridge inspection unexpectedly reported dismissing an unrelated Remote Desktop dialog. Reported to the owner as adom/kicad-bridge#120. No fix or deployment is verified. Subsequent window inventories use autoDismiss:false.

Placement update: the native candidate now has zero DRC violations, with 218 unrouted connections. Its USB intra-footprint hole-clearance rule and unresolved U2 assembled label location are documented in the placement review.
