• Pins 1 to 8 are the PHY side of the four transformer channels: D1+/D1- (pins 1/2, RJ45 contacts 1/2), D2+/D2- (pins 3/6, contacts 3/6), D3+/D3- (pins 4/5, contacts 4/5), D4+/D4- (pins 7/8, contacts 7/8). Pin 9 (VCC in the datasheet) is the common PHY-side centre tap, pin 10 (GND) the termination ground.
• The datasheet labels pin 9 VCC. For a voltage-mode PHY it is commonly decoupled to ground rather than tied to a supply; check the PHY vendor's guidance.
• Wurth gives drill sizes only. The annular rings (1.5 mm on d0.9, 1.6 mm on d1.03, 2.4 mm on d1.6) were chosen for this footprint. The hole-pattern view on page 1 was read as the top view: it is the mirror of the pin-tail (bottom) view on the same page.
