What it is

An ams OSRAM TMF8829 direct time-of-flight sensor molecule (48 x 32 zones) for measuring motor displacement. It carries the sensor, its support passives and two indicator LEDs, and links out through J1 — it has no machine-pin datum of its own.

The board, section by section

Sensor

The TMF8829 (U1) ranges configurable 8x8 / 16x16 / 32x32 / 48x32 grids over SPI (20 MHz max, mode 0); both I²C and SPI are live at power-up until BL_CMD_I2C_OFF / BL_CMD_SPI_OFF selects one. Internal RC 4.95 MHz, CPUs 158.4 MHz, 2 ms power-on.

Straps & pulls

R2 2.2 k holds SCL high through the interface-select window; R3 2.2 k pulls the open-drain INT. EN is not strapped on this board — the FC carrier holds it low at boot (EN low loses all memory and forces a full firmware re-download).

Indicators

Two 0402 LEDs (D1, D2).
