PNOZ mi1p

Pilz GmbH & Co. KGSAFETY INPUT MODULE

Expansion module for the configurable PNOZmulti safety system that adds 8 safety inputs, I0 to I7, for E-STOP pushbuttons, safety gates, light beam devices, two-hand buttons, enabling switches and operating mode selectors. It takes its 5 V supply from the PNOZmulti base unit, up to 8 can hang off one base unit, and it snaps onto a 35 mm top-hat rail at 22.5 mm wide.

Schematic symbol by Adam Skotarczak. The symbol is PILZ_PNOZ_mi1p from his realAscot/kicad-symlib, © 2025 Adam Skotarczak, ionivation.com, free to use, modify and redistribute with credit. It installs with the whole library from the Wolfgang's KiCad library (KiCad PCM repository), where this footprint and 3D model are linked to it.
Datasheet-built CAD: check before you rely on it. The 3D model is built from Pilz's published dimensions and front view, not from Pilz's own CAD, so its envelope is right but details are representative. The footprint's terminal positions and pitch are scaled from the front-view drawing and are approximate (plan for about 0.5 mm). Fine for cabinet layout and documentation; compare against the Pilz drawing before anything depends on exact positions.
End of life. Pilz lists the 773400 as at the end of its product lifecycle. Check with the manufacturer for a successor before designing it into a new cabinet.

Symbol & footprint

Schematic symbol by Adam Skotarczak
DIN-rail panel footprint (terminal positions approximate), front face on the TS35 rail

A cabinet panel-layout footprint, not a PCB land pattern: the outline is the 22.5 W x 94 H x 121 front face, the origin is the rail centre line, and the pads sit at the terminal positions so symbol pins and 3D terminals line up.

Pin map

In the upstream devices.kicad_sym this symbol's pin numbers repeated or were empty, so KiCad could not map them to pads. The fork numbers them by terminal position (X1.1 to X2.5) and keeps the manufacturer labels as pin names.
