IN-S63BT5B is the blue member of Inolux's IN-S63BT series, a low-profile 0603 top-view indicator LED in a clear, PCB-type moulded package.p.1 The '5' in the part number is not a suffix quirk — it is the Current field of Inolux's numbering scheme, and it means this variant is specified and tested at 5 mA rather than the series' usual 20 mA.p.9 The die is InGaN at a dominant wavelength of 468 nm.p.3, p.8
At the 5 mA test point it drops 2.8 V typ and returns 45 mcdp.3 — plenty for an indicator at a quarter of the usual current. Do not read that 2.8 V as a 20 mA figure: every guaranteed number in the electrical table for this part is a 5 mA number.p.3 From a 5 V rail, (5 − 2.8) / 0.005 = 440 Ω lands it on its test point; the datasheet asks for a current-limiting resistor explicitly.p.13
The absolute maximums still allow 25 mA continuous and 100 mA pulsed (1/10 duty, 0.1 ms),p.2 but above 5 mA you are off the characterized map. Reverse voltage is rated to only 5 V,p.2 the viewing angle is a wide 120°,p.3 and InGaN chips are static-sensitive devices — ESD precautions apply.p.2
