TPS62130

Texas Instruments · Switching regulator (buck) · VQFN-16

Steps a 3 to 17 V input down to a regulated rail at up to 3 A, with both MOSFETs integrated and a resistor divider at FB setting the output. The switching frequency is adjustable at FSW to trade efficiency against solution size, a DEF pin picks the light-load mode, soft-start is programmable at SS/TR, and a power-good flag reports regulation. Split analog and power supply and ground pins keep the reference quiet. A capable general-purpose buck for 5 V and 12 V rails.

10 AVIN power_in Analog supply for the control circuitry. Must be tied to the same source as PVIN. Operating range 3 V to 17 V (abs-max 20 V).
11 PVIN power_in Power-stage supply input. Tie pins 11 and 12 together and to the same source as AVIN. Operating range 3 V to 17 V (abs-max 20 V). Bypass close to the pin.
12 PVIN power_in Power-stage supply input (paralleled with pin 11); tie to the same source as AVIN and bypass close to the pin.
13 EN input Enable input. High = enabled, Low = disabled (shutdown, IQ < 2 uA). VIH >= 0.9 V, VIL <= 0.3 V. Internal pulldown keeps device off if floating. Rated to VIN+0.3 V.
14 VOS input Output voltage sense pin for the control-loop feedback. Connect directly to VOUT at the output capacitor. Max 7 V.
15 PGND power_in Power ground return for the low-side MOSFET. Tie pins 15 and 16 together and to the exposed thermal pad and common ground plane.
16 PGND power_in Power ground return for the low-side MOSFET (paralleled with pin 15). Tie to the exposed thermal pad and common ground plane.
17 EP power_in Exposed thermal pad. Must be connected to AGND (pin 6), PGND (pins 15, 16) and the common ground plane, and soldered to the PCB for proper thermal dissipation and mechanical reliability.
