A tiny digital temperature sensor with an I2C interface, in a 6-pin SOT-563 barely larger than an 0805. It reports temperature as a 12-bit value (0.0625 C resolution) with plus/minus 0.5 C accuracy and no calibration, so it feeds a microcontroller directly over two wires. A programmable ALERT output flags an over/under-temperature threshold for thermostat-style control, and the ADD0 pin selects one of four I2C addresses so several share the bus. It sips power (a few microamps averaged) which suits battery designs. Runs 1.4-3.6 V.
