SN74HC373

Texas Instruments · Octal transparent D latch (3-state) · SOIC-20

Eight transparent D-type latches with 3-state outputs in a SOIC-20. While the latch-enable (LE) pin is high the outputs follow the D inputs (transparent); take LE low and each latch holds the last value. A separate active-low output-enable (/OE) puts all eight outputs into high-impedance for bus sharing. The classic use is de-multiplexing an address/data bus (as on the 8051 and 8085), latching the low address byte while the same pins later carry data. Runs 2-6 V.
