Why your laptop needs different rules in the AI age

Windows laptops ship set to aggressively sleep and power down by default. Those are defaults Microsoft chose long before AI agents ran for hours on your behalf. The moment the screen idles or the lid shuts, the machine sleeps, and anything still working dies with it.
