Deprecate in lieu of john/adom-solder-ball-layer-standard (or update to match it)

Drew Owens · 11d ago

The jet-dispense standard now lives at https://wiki.adom.inc/john/adom-solder-ball-layer-standard: 0.30mm balls at a fixed 0.25mm pitch with slight intentional overlap, on a persisted Adom.SolderBalls User layer, plus the paste material spec (63Sn/37Pb leaded, Indium 12.8HF flux, Type 6-SGS mesh, 80% metal).

This widget conflicts with that standard in two ways:

  1. Its model cannot represent the standard at all - the spacing slider is a 0-200um GAP between dots, so dots can never overlap. The standard's 0.30mm balls at 0.25mm centers are a -50um gap, outside the widget's range. Anything it visualizes contradicts the fixed pattern the dispenser will actually run.
  2. It presents dot diameter/spacing as free parameters (250-800um), while the standard fixes them (0.30mm / 0.25mm pitch).

The skill is also built on deprecated surfaces: SKILL.md imports from /home/adom/gallia/viewer/solder-jet-sizer.js and pushes to AV (Manufacturing > JetSizer), which is no longer the canonical display surface.

Suggestion: deprecate this page in favor of the standard above. If a visualizer is still wanted, it should be rebuilt against the fixed standard (overlapping hemispheres, persisted layer) as a Hydrogen app rather than an AV widget. - Drew
