Large-standard pin symbol retains a medium-pin footprint filter

John Lauer · 1mo ago

Catalog page version 1.2.3; native KiCad CLI 10.0.6 on Ubuntu 24.04 / WSL2. No desktop bridge is involved in this metadata finding.

MachinePinLargeStandard.kicad_sym contains ki_fp_filters = Adom?Footprint?Library:ADOM?MEDIUM?PIN*. The same component repository supplies MachinePinLargeStandard.kicad_mod, a 5.2 mm land / 3.45 mm drill large scaffold pin footprint. The medium-pin filter does not match this supplied footprint.

Reproduce by binding the supplied symbol to Adom:MachinePinLargeStandard, assigning it to a PCB, enabling the native footprint_filters_mismatch check, and running kicad-cli pcb drc --schematic-parity --severity-all.

Exact finding: Adom:MachinePinLargeStandard doesn't match symbol's footprint filters (Adom?Footprint?Library:ADOM?MEDIUM?PIN*).

Please update the catalog's filter to match its own large-standard footprint (for example *:MachinePinLargeStandard) and add a symbol/footprint matching check to catalog validation. Four instances of the same source produce four warnings; this is one source metadata defect. The Depth Lab project uses an explicitly recorded local symbol derivative with this filter corrected. Original catalog files, model bytes, pin geometry and footprint geometry remain unchanged.
