A project is assembled onto a BSS once and then travels with it: the BSS slides into any workcell in the factory, aligns precisely and repeatably, connects electrically, and moves on to the next workcell โ€” **without the project ever being torn down or re-fixtured**.++The BSS is the contract between a customer's project and the workcell ecosystem: workcells are designed against the BSS interfaces (mechanical, electrical, alignment), not against individual projects.++## How a customer interacts with the BSS++๐Ÿ”ถ **FILL-IN (Drew):** the customer interaction model. Specifically:++- How does a customer's project get mounted onto a BSS in the first place (who does it, what mounting features/pattern does the customer design against)?+- What does the customer see day-to-day โ€” do they handle the BSS directly, or only through workcells/software?+- Is there a design guide or envelope spec the customer must follow (max footprint, max height, max weight, keep-out zones)?+- Ordering/allocation: does a customer own a BSS per project, lease it, or is it pooled?+- What happens at end of project โ€” teardown, refurbishment, return?++## How the BSS interacts with workcells and the factory++๐Ÿ”ถ **FILL-IN (Drew):** the factory integration story. Specifically:++- Insertion/extraction: how a BSS enters and leaves a workcell (rails, guides, actuated pull-in?), and whether that is automated or manual.+- Transport between workcells: what moves a BSS around the factory (AMR, cart, conveyor, human)?+- Identity and tracking: how the factory knows which BSS (and which project) is where โ€” barcode, RFID, electronic ID via the control panel?+- Handshake: what a workcell does on arrival (alignment check, electrical connect, project verification) before it starts work.+- Scale: how many workcells a typical project visits, and typical dwell/transit expectations.++## Mechanical design++*This section is owned and populated by **James** and **Luke**. Skeleton below; expand each subsection in place.*++### Panels++Panels provide the BSS's electrical contact interface, with mechanical connection and electrical isolation between the two.++๐Ÿ”ถ **FILL-IN (James/Luke):**++- Contact size and spacing/pitch, and total contact count per panel.+- Contact material/plating and per-contact current rating.+- Electrical isolation: method and rated isolation voltage.+- Mechanical connection: fastening method, engagement force, tolerance to misalignment.+- Panel dimensions and placement on the scaffold.++### Alignment sheet++The alignment sheet uses a kinematic coupling plus fiducials to give precise, repeatable alignment from one workcell to the next, and provides rigid support for heavy projects.++๐Ÿ”ถ **FILL-IN (James/Luke):**++- Kinematic coupling type (e.g. three-groove Maxwell, Kelvin) and achieved repeatability spec (ยฑยตm or ยฑmm).+- Fiducial type, count, and placement pattern; which sensors/cameras read them.+- Maximum supported project mass: **__ kg** (explicitly TBD in the brief).+- Sheet material, thickness, and flatness spec.++### Factory mobility++The BSS slides into workcells and can move around the factory without tearing the project down.++๐Ÿ”ถ **FILL-IN (James/Luke):**++- The slide interface geometry (rail profile, engagement length) and retention/locking once seated.+- Handling limits while loaded: max speed, allowed tilt/shock during transport.+- Mass of the BSS itself (empty), for transport and workcell design budgets.++### Wiring++BSS wiring is bent automatically by machine.++๐Ÿ”ถ **FILL-IN (James/Luke):**++- Wire gauges and when each is used (24 AWG vs 14 AWG solid core โ€” signal vs power?).+- Insulation spec, bend radius limits, and current ratings per gauge.+- Termination: how wires land on the panels/control panel (crimp, solder, IDC?).+- Routing rules/channels on the scaffold.++### Other mechanical items++๐Ÿ”ถ **FILL-IN (James/Luke):** the brief says "probably a few more items" โ€” add remaining subsections here (candidates: frame/structure and materials, fastener standards, environmental ratings, service/maintenance points).++## Control Panel++The BSS's electrical front door โ€” specifications and the connector/disconnect interface โ€” is documented on its own page, maintained by **Caleb**:++โžก๏ธ **[BSS Control Panel](https://wiki.adom.inc/adom/bss-control-panel)** (linked as a dependency of this page)
