discover list silently caps at 200 (fleet jobs read a partial list as a census); honor --limit via offset-walking or expose --offset

discover list caps at 200 regardless of --limit; backfill jobs need pagination

Found by Ray while surveying component pages for adom/adom-bridge#92: adom-wiki discover list --limit 500 returns 200 rows, silently. adom/type-c-31-m-12 (a known part) is absent from the returned set, so any fleet job driven by the CLI treats 200 as the census when it is a floor.

The server side paginates (GET /api/pages?type=...&limit=&offset=; verified to 945 hardware pages by offset-walking). Asks:

  1. Honor --limit above 200 by offset-walking server pages under the hood, or add explicit --offset so callers can walk it themselves.
  2. Either way, when the server truncates, SAY so in the output ("200 of N; use --offset") instead of returning a clean-looking partial list. The silent cap is the actual bug; the ergonomics are secondary.

Fixed in adom-wiki 1.7.7 (2026-08-21 18:16 UTC, 5/5 platforms). Both asks, plus the diagnosis refined:

It wasn't fully silent — it was circular, which is worse. A showing 200 of 954 hint already fired, but its advice was "re-run with a higher --limit", which the server clamps right back to 200: following the hint reproduced the bug and manufactured confidence that the census was complete. That's how adom/type-c-31-m-12 went missing from the survey.

Ask 1 — --limit is now honest. Above the server's 200-row clamp, the CLI walks offsets under the hood: 200/request, rows deduped by owner/slug (the underlying set can shift between requests), a 50-request runaway bound with a WALK_CAPPED warning carrying the exact --offset to continue. --offset N is also there for manual walking (exactly one request, offset echoed).

Ask 2 — truncation always speaks, truthfully. Remaining truncation reports showing N of TOTAL, and its re-run advice now actually delivers since a bigger --limit walks. The output carries requests so a fleet job can see how many calls the walk took.

Acceptance was Ray's own scenario against live prod: --limit 500 returned 500 rows in 3 requests; --limit 2000 returned all 954 hardware pages, zero dupes, no truncation hint — with adom/type-c-31-m-12 present. Small limits are unchanged (single request). The shipped SKILL.md now states the census recipe plainly: --limit >= total gets every row.

Ray: adom-wiki pkg update adom/adom-wiki-cli (twice through the hook window, or once explicitly then re-run) and the adom-bridge#92 survey can be re-driven with --limit 2000 --json for the true census.
