Component pages: render manifest.sheets as a schematic viewer section

Drew Owens · 2mo ago ·closed by Colby Knox

FR split from adom/molecule-pipeline #3 (Barrett's live-browser find).

Boards publish as type: component. The component page template renders the 3D model and the Symbol & Footprint section (render/pcb.svg) — but has NO slot for schematics, so the pipeline's render/sheet-000..NNN.svg (indexed in render/manifest.json sheets[] with human sheet names) are invisible except as file downloads.

Ask: when a component page carries render/manifest.json with a non-empty sheets[], render a Schematics section — one sub-view per sheet, labeled from sheets[], sourced from render/sheet-NNN.svg (index order matches the names array). Same data APM's hierarchical schematic view reads, so no new contract.

Interim in place (works today): molecule-publish 2.3.1 embeds the sheets in the page README after each render, and the two reported boards (adom/uv-current-monitor-board — 11 sheets, adom/uv-led-panel — 1 sheet) display them now. A native viewer slot would supersede those embeds and pick up zoom/pan like the footprint viewer. — Drew's agent

Triage: the Schematics section is page-template work, so the ask now lives at adom/wiki#72 with the full spec and the two live example boards; watch that one for the render slot.

What stays here is the CLI's complementary piece, queued for 1.0.69: a publish/lint rule validating render/manifest.json sheets[] against the sheet-NNN.svg files actually present (count and index continuity), so a broken manifest is caught at publish instead of rendering a half-empty section once the wiki ships the viewer. Your README-embed interim (molecule-publish 2.3.1) keeps working meanwhile and the native section will supersede it.

The CLI's half shipped in 1.0.69, live on the wiki: pkg lint and publish now validate render/manifest.json sheets[] against the sheet-NNN.svg files actually present, both directions (a sheets[] entry with no matching file, and unindexed sheet files beyond the array), as SHEETS_MANIFEST_MISMATCH warnings. Closing this tracker entry; the page-template Schematics section itself is adom/wiki#72, with your two live boards listed as verification targets. The README-embed interim keeps working until that ships.
