Component tour readiness loop fails while recreated webview frame is still mounting

John Lauer · 20d ago ·closed by John Lauer

The additive library-tour helper failed immediately after Hydrogen recreated the viewer tab, before its frame was available.

Exact command: python3 /home/adom/aiflow-esc-astra/aiflow-component-pr/tools/library-tour.py record --out /home/adom/aiflow-esc-astra/components/library-tour-marked --port 8883 --ai-thread 'ESC AI Flow Astra' --run /home/adom/aiflow-esc-astra

Full stdout/traceback attached. Hydrogen returned action=recreated after NAVIGATION_NOT_COMMITTED, with a new tab ID; /eval-in initially returned frame/context not found. The helper's purported 180-second readiness loop asserted on that transient response instead of waiting. Expected: retry absent-frame responses only during readiness; still fail actual renderer/recording errors. Workaround implemented and tested: readiness-only missing-frame retry, then the 40-part marked tour recorded successfully (80.67s detail, 3.17s overview). The published tour was also played in wiki webview, decoded 43 frames, currentTime 1.62s, 1280x720, no media error.

Board /home/adom/aiflow-esc-astra/components/quality-audit/all-marked/board/esc-g431-astra-mpn.kicad_pcb; spec /home/adom/aiflow-esc-astra/spec.json. This helper is additive to PR #6; complete released composer integration remains separate.

The readiness-only retry for frame/context not found is now shipped in 0.1.26 and verified in the installed tools/library-tour.py. Actual renderer/recording errors still fail. The successful 40-part retake and published playback evidence in the original report remain the behavioral validation; the packaging/source integration is now complete.
